Dallas, Texas —June 8, 2025
On Sunday, June 8, Iranian Americans in the Dallas–Fort Worth area gathered in downtown Dallas for a powerful rally and photo exhibition. The event was held to condemn the recent surge in executions by the Iranian regime and to stand in solidarity with the Iranian people in their ongoing struggle for freedom and justice.
The exhibit featured striking portraits of those whose lives were taken—a poignant reminder that behind each number is a human being with a name, a story, and a dream. Many of those pictured were peacefully protesting for basic rights and dignity before they were arrested and later executed. This is not a recent phenomenon. For over four decades, the Iranian regime has relied on executions to silence dissent and instill fear.
Among the images were not only victims from recent years but also photos of political prisoners massacred in 1988—one of the regime’s most horrific crimes against humanity. These individuals were targeted for their beliefs or affiliations, with over 90% of them affiliated with the MEK, Iran’s main opposition movement. Their inclusion served as a powerful reminder that the regime’s brutality is systematic, deeply rooted, and ongoing—and that the pursuit of justice is far from over.
Since Masoud Pezeshkian assumed power last year, more than 1,000 people have been executed. In May 2025 alone, 175 individuals were hanged—marking the deadliest month on record.
Speakers at the event also drew attention to the growing wave of resistance inside Iran. They praised truck drivers who recently went on strike, demanding fair wages and economic justice, and recognized the solidarity of teachers, nurses, and countless others who have bravely joined the call for change—often at great personal risk.
The gathering reaffirmed support for Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan and the National Council of Resistance of Iran’s vision of a secular, democratic republic that guarantees human rights, gender equality, and protection for all ethnic and religious minorities.
Organizers urged the international community to hold the Iranian regime accountable, declaring that “the world is watching—and the voice of the Iranian people will prevail.”
One participant summed up the spirit of the event:
“Our ask is simple: recognize the right of Iranian citizens to defend themselves against the brutality of the Iranian regime.”
Those words echoed through the streets of Dallas—a solemn promise to stand with those risking everything for freedom.
