As our community was preparing to attend the massive Free Iran Rally in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, May 16, our member, Mona, appeared on Lindell TV to discuss the critical updates on the ground and explain the profound urgency driving our mobilization to the nation's capital.
During the television broadcast, she shed light on the brutal escalation of human rights abuses inside Iran, specifically addressing the clerical regime's horrific "strategy of the noose" — a desperate wave of political executions aimed at silencing a defiant society.
The core of the interview centered on honoring the immense bravery of the domestic resistance, most notably the recent martyrs from the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). Mona shared a deeply moving and defiant account that has shaken the international community: the story of six MEK heroes who, when facing the gallows in the prison yard of Ghezel Hesar, stood shoulder to shoulder and sang anthems of freedom and resistance directly before their executions.
Mona explained that the strategy of armed resistance has been increasingly embraced by Iranian youth. She highlighted the case of Amir Hossein, an 18-year-old protester who was executed by the regime.Facing a kangaroo court designed only to condemn him, Amir Hossein proudly defended his actions of disarming IRGC members and boldly declared that his ultimate mission was to overthrow the regime.
This chilling yet inspiring reality is exactly why our community felt a duty to march on Capitol Hill on May 16. We went to Washington to amplify those voices from the prison yards, to demand immediate international accountability for the regime's crimes, and to echo the Iranian people's total rejection of both the mullahs' theocracy and any return to monarchical dictatorship.
Our community remains more committed than ever to standing in absolute solidarity with the internal resistance units fighting for a secular, democratic, and non-nuclear Republic of Iran.
